Service Design Consultant | 3-Month Contract | £600–£700/day (Outside IR35) | Remote (occasional London meet-ups possible)
We’re supporting a leading energy provider on a confidential project that requires an experienced Service Designer to design a new end-to-end buying experience for customers that blends energy and non-energy services in a seamless, customer-first way.
You’ll join a fast-paced discovery project, working alongside an experienced in-house strategy and service design team and a third-party partner to bring this innovative new proposition to life, with a market trial expected in the coming months.
What you’ll be doing:
- Shaping and developing initial customer journeys based on existing research and concepts
- Partnering with internal stakeholders and external collaborators to make the proposition trial-ready
- Mapping end-to-end services, identifying functional requirements and integration points
- Producing clear service blueprints and artefacts to drive alignment and decision-making
- Applying a hands-on, pragmatic mindset to solve delivery challenges in real time
What we’re looking for:
- A senior-level Service Designer with a strong UX and/or user research background
- Proven experience working in large-scale, corporate environments (e.g. banking, energy, utilities)
- Comfortable operating in high-velocity, ambiguous environments – someone who can just get stuck in
- Skilled in crafting detailed service blueprints, and aligning stakeholders quickly
- A consultant with a conscience, someone who genuinely cares about doing good work for customers
- A credible, calm, and mature communicator who others can trust and rally behind
