Head of Cybersecurity Operations & Engineering

We’re supporting a well-known UK household brand through a key leadership transition within their cyber security function. Following significant progress in strengthening capability and governance, they’re now seeking a Head of Cyber Security to continue driving maturity, structure, and operational excellence.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), this is a critical leadership role overseeing cyber engineering, operations, and governance. You’ll manage four senior direct reports and a wider team of around 15 specialists spanning Threat, Vulnerability, and Security Operations.
About You
You’re a senior cyber leader who can bridge strategy and operations – combining technical breadth, commercial understanding, and people leadership. You bring the credibility to engage with regulators and executives alike, and the pragmatism to help teams deliver tangible outcomes in a complex environment.
You’ll bring:
- Broad experience across cyber operations, engineering, and governance.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft security tooling and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Proven ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience engaging with PRA/FCA or similar regulatory bodies.
- Confidence operating in large, fast-paced organisations with diverse technology estates.
- A leadership style that promotes trust, structure, and empowerment.
