Finance Business Partner (Distribution)
Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 per annum (Location depending) + bonus
Location: London/York/Colchester

The Role:
The role is a newly created position working as part of a small partnering team supporting the Chief Distribution Officer of the UK Retail business, helping to drive the future performance of the Distribution and Sales function.
Its intent is to provide a fantastic gateway opportunity for a Big 4 trained (or equivalent) qualified Accountant in industry or practice to join a fast paced, highly commercial business that can offer career progression and senior interaction across the whole spectrum of finance activities.
You will be working very closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner deputising for the role when required.

What you’ll be doing:
- Business partner with the Distribution function including creating value through financial insight and working directly with stakeholders across business areas
- Own the monthly suite of financial reports delivered to the Distribution management team and hold the business to account for actions which have a positive impact on the performance of the Distribution business
- Assess financial business cases for Distribution led projects and have an understanding of project accounting
- Own the financial plan and reforecasts for Distribution including embedding a driver based planning approach
- Responsible for the monthly performance analysis of the Distribution UK expense base (including headcount management)
- Have an awareness of market insights and the risks and opportunities. Identify solutions where appropriate
Person Specification:
- Demonstrate a business partner mindset
- Relevant professional qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
- Professional curiosity to ask the “so what” type question
- Structured and ordered with an ability to analyse and draw insights from numerical data to tell the underlying story
- Ability to communicate complex financial problems to a number of different audiences
- Shows initiative, drive and ownership, strong determination to ‘get things right’ standardised and then automate the production
- Combine soft influencing and persuasion skills with leadership qualities to encourage senior leaders to positively respond to questions, inquires and requests to meet deadlines
